The Wirral is a peninsula with the Mersey on one side and the Dee on the other, and that single fact shapes almost every job I do here. Air coming off water keeps properties damp for most of the year, so roofs grow moss, patios green over, fascias streak and glass films up far faster than they would twenty miles inland.

Wallasey is home. The business is based at 22 Lycett Road in CH44, which means Liscard, Seacombe, Egremont, Poulton and New Brighton are effectively on the doorstep, a few minutes' drive rather than a trip across the peninsula.

Birkenhead has the oldest and most varied housing on the Wirral: Victorian terraces around the town centre and Rock Ferry, substantial period villas in Oxton and Claughton, inter-war semis through Prenton, and a large number of converted flats and rental properties across all three CH41, CH42 and CH43 postcodes.

Bebington is family housing with space around it, decent driveways, proper back gardens and, in Higher and Lower Bebington, a lot of block paving that has quietly lost its jointing sand over the last decade. That is the single most common exterior job in CH62 and CH63.

Heswall sits on the Dee side of the peninsula, and the properties here are generally larger, set further back and surrounded by considerably more planting than anywhere else on the Wirral. Long driveways, sandstone terracing and mature trees define almost every job in CH60 and CH61.

Hoylake sits on the exposed north-west corner of the peninsula, taking wind straight off the Dee estuary and the Irish Sea with nothing in the way. Everything about the cleaning here is shaped by salt and sand.
