Where the Business Started
Valeting is where this whole thing began, cleaning friends' cars out of the boot of my own car, one at a time, for beer money. Today it is a fully equipped mobile van, but the job is still done by hand by the same person, and still one car at a time rather than a production line.
Because the van carries its own water and electricity, nothing is run off your tap or your socket. That single fact is what makes mobile valeting workable at an office car park, at a flat with no outside tap, on a terraced street, or on a drive where the standpipe is nowhere near where the car sits.
Valeting is priced off a fixed list rather than quoted on site. Mini Valet £40, Full Interior Valet £70, Executive Valet £95, with an engine bay clean at £45 and an under body jet wash at £35 if you want them. You can book it over the phone without me coming to look first.
What you are buying is time and attention rather than a machine wash. A hand wash, a proper interior, and someone who will point out the scuff you had not noticed rather than polishing over it.

Why Interiors Matter More Than Paint
Most of a car's value is lost inside, not outside, and interiors are the part people leave the longest.
Upholstery sets and starts to smell
Spilt drinks, food and damp dog bed themselves into fabric seats and carpets. Once it has dried in, it feeds bacteria and the smell comes back every warm day until the fabric is properly extracted.
Leather dries out and cracks
Without conditioning, leather loses the oils that keep it flexible. The bolster on the driver's seat splits first, where you get in and out, and a split panel is a retrim rather than a clean.
Trade-in value drops fast
A tired interior is the first thing knocked off a valuation, because it is the first thing a buyer or a dealer sits in. Cleaning is measured in tens of pounds; the deduction is measured in hundreds.
Sun and grit finish the job
Dust and grit ground into the dash and door cards act as an abrasive, and UV then fades what the grit has scuffed. Both are preventable with regular cleaning and dressing.

- Mini Valet: £40. Dash and door pockets cleaned and dressed, windows polished, full interior vacuum including boot, interior deodorised, outside washed, liquid waxed and towel dried, wheels cleaned and tyres dressed.
- Full Interior Valet: £70. Everything in the Mini, plus hot shampoo of all upholstery and carpets including the boot, or leather cleaned and conditioned plus carpet shampoo, then headlining cleaned, interior deodoriser and disposable seat covers.
- Executive Valet: £95. Everything above, plus a pre-wash and full chemical decontamination of the paintwork.
- Add-ons. Engine bay clean £45, under body jet wash £35. Both can be added to any of the three valets.

The Self-Contained Van
It sounds like a technical detail. In practice it decides where I can work and what you have to provide, which is nothing.
Own water and power
Tanked water and on-board electricity mean there is no hose trailing through a hallway and no extension lead out of a kitchen window. Flats, terraced streets, office car parks and industrial estates are all workable.
It also means the job does not stop when a building's services are locked off, which is why company car work at business premises is straightforward to arrange.
Fixed prices, no site visit
Unlike the exterior property work, valeting is priced off a list. Tell me which valet you want and the price is the price, you can book it straight over the phone and I will not arrive and revise it.
Payment is by card, cash or bank transfer on the day, whichever suits you.
Fabric versus leather interiors
Fabric seats and carpets get a hot shampoo in the Full Interior Valet, which extracts the soil rather than just wetting the surface. It is the same principle as the domestic carpet work, scaled down to a car.
Leather is cleaned with a product made for it and then conditioned, so the oils that daily use strips out are put back. That second step is included, not sold as an extra, and it is the step that keeps a seat supple instead of squeaky and dry.
Paint decontamination on the Executive
The Executive Valet adds a pre-wash and a full chemical decontamination of the paintwork. That removes the bonded contamination, traffic film, fallout, tar spotting, that an ordinary wash leaves behind and that makes paint feel gritty even when it looks clean.
It is the one worth booking before you sell a car, before a lease handback, or if the car has sat under trees or near an industrial area for a while.
Family cars, work vans and coastal cars
Family cars are almost always an interior job: footwell carpets, child seat crumbs, spilt drinks and pet hair. Work vans are a cab and load-area job, usually booked before a resale or a handover.
Cars kept near the coast at Wallasey, New Brighton, Hoylake or West Kirby carry sand into the carpets and salt onto the paint. Sand grinds at fabric and salt accelerates corrosion under the car, which is exactly what the under body jet wash at £35 is for.

- The Executive if the paint matters, the Full Interior if the inside is what lets it down. An interior detail usually makes the bigger difference to what a private buyer offers.
- Can you get pet hair and smells out of a car?
- Yes. The Full Interior Valet includes hot shampoo of the upholstery and carpets plus an interior deodoriser, which deals with the source rather than covering it.
- Do you need to see the car before quoting?
- No. Valeting is fixed price off the list, so it can be booked over the phone. Exterior property work is the only thing that needs a site visit.
